The daily humdrums of life can drown and entrap us and cause our minds to be polluted and convoluted. Just like toxins, stress and tensions can do harmful things into your body which may result into poor health and being cranky for no reason at all.
One of the ways to reset your mind back to its healthy state is by letting yourself go through a guided meditation. This is a form of meditation where you’re listening to someone direct your thoughts and feelings to a general state of peace and calm. As human beings these are what we always strive for – peace and calm. But because the nature of our work is generally challenging, we often find ourselves carried away by the noises, arguments, issues, and dilemmas that we face.
A guided meditation can do a lot of wonderful things for you. It is a kind of meditation where you pop in a CD, play your iPOD or go to a meditation session with other people and listen to a moderator. The moderator will slowly narrate the things that we want to hear. For example, the narrator will ask you to close your eyes, sit comfortably, and imagine that you’re in some faraway land or beach where everything around you is light and beautiful. The narrator will then slowly guide you to inhabit the feelings of calm and tranquility and release your body of any tension and stress that may be enslaving you.
The purpose of a guided meditation is to allow ourselves to get rid of stresses, bad thoughts, and feelings of ill-will and resentment through the power of our imagination. Our minds direct how we feel, behave, and act and we need to control it if we want to have a positive outlook in life. The mind is the most potent part of our body that defines who we are and how we behave toward other people.
When you’re going through a guided meditation, allow yourself the freedom to soar and run and sit and laugh based on the narrative that you’re hearing. Because when you do, you will find yourself in a place where there are no demands and expectations, where life is supposed to be the way it is.
