Learn More About Gout Causes

Gout is known to be caused by a buildup of uric acid (urate) in the blood. Urate is a waste that is not harmful in our bodies and is formed when our bodies break down substances that are known as purines. This disease is normally associated with a certain condition known as hyperuricema which occur when our blood contains raised levels of uric acid. It is the function of the kidney to process this uric acid and excrete it in form of urine.

There are many causes that raise the level of uric acidic and this disease is linked to high levels of uric acid in the blood. There are also other risk factors that may increase the level of uric acid. One of the things that raise the level of uric acid is taking too much food rich in purine. Taking too much food rich in purine can raise the level of uric acid in the blood and is one of the causes of gout. It is therefore advisable to avoid foods that cause gout like shellfish, red meat and offal foods and to take low purine diet. Taking the right diet for gout is therefore one of the home remedies that can effectively reduce getting affected from this condition.

Another thing that will increase the risk of catching this disease is high alcohol intake. Some of the alcoholic drinks especially wine and beer are known to increase uric acidic in the body. Heavy alcohol consumption is a risk factor and is known to cause gout. Genetics is another thing that can cause gout. It is a disease that can be passed down from one generation to the other in the same family and thus it disapproves the notion that it is caused by too much drinking and eating.

Obesity is another contributory factor and thus will increase the likelihood of one catching the disease. These gout symptoms should be looked at by anyone since there are associated to the lifestyle of a person. Therefore, if you want to live healthy, without catching this disease, you should know the foods to avoid for gout. Moreover, you should know the medications that are used in gout treatment like diuretics and aspirin.
